Relaxer Day 12/26

Im keeping this short as Ive been online all day creating a Fotki, lol

I relaxed on 12/26 and I think I got really good results. I am underprocessed in areas but I dont mind being that I like the fullness. Oh I relaxed with S&B Botanicals.. I didnt change.. i'm too scared:)

I think I gained a little over an inch in the last 14 weeks, I know im a slow grower soi will take what I can get:)

13 Weeks Post

So I am currently 13 weeks post relaxer and I plan on relaxing on December 26th at 14 weeks. I am still really undecided what I am going to use to relax with.. I am so accustomed to relaxing with botanicals by soft and beautiful which is a box kit no lye relaxer and its marketed towards those with sensitive scalp(hello that is ME with a capital ME). So now I've been reading about all of the benefits lye relaxer's have as being so much better for the condition of the hair..

Now that I relax in 2 sections as well it may be a little safer to do the lye relaxer. ummmm I am so undecided.. I am being pulled in two directions and how do they say, if it aint broke then dont try and fix it.. ughhhh

10 weeks post this W/E

I am breezing thru the weeks, planning on relaxing on December 26th if all goes well. I just purchased 2 lacefronts from my BSS and I'm hooked!! I wont be turning back, lol. I wore my Vanessa Face Farah today and I received so many compliments at work, it wasnt even funny! I'm gonna see what the fam thinks tomorrow at the thanksgiving dinner.

I plan on rocking this one until the week of xmas. I will prep the other gal I bought around that time and pull her out for xmas, lol

I already have my eye on another lace front and I didnt even wear the new one that I have yet. Its from Milky way its called Adora, and its 69.99 over at HairSisters. I'm gonna wait until the new year to purchase, I have time. I saw it on someone on LHCF and its hot, so realistic, you would really never know its a lacefront.

Halloween Party 2009

Hubby and I decided to throw a little adult costume party at our house on Halloween.. It turned out really nice and alot of people participated..

Planning on doing it again next year but it will be more organized. I only gave people a few days notice to get costumes, it was a last minute thing as always!!

Girls trip to PR 11/09

So folks

I returned from PR on the 10th of Nov, went with 8 friends and had a ball for my Bday. My bday was on the 11th. You know i had to be back home to spend it with my hubby and kids!

So PR was nice overall, our hotel was a little far from everything and it was a hassle to get off the resort grounds but once we did we had a great time. I loved it especially the weather was beautiful, I cowashed my hair daily, lol..

7 Weeks Post this Saturday

Looking good ladies, looking good! I am rocking my London Girl Freetress wig right now and will continue to do so for the next 7 weeks hopefully.. I have a few others in my stash since I got my shipment from Clair Hair but I'm loving this one right now. I had to cut the hair because the side/back where just way too long.. Just a recipe for tangling. So I cut it to maybe APL. Im thinking I will be happy with APL healthy hair.. My goal was BSL but I dont know after seeing this wig on.. We will see.

OFF TO PUERTO RICO on Friday!

I guess i'm just getting excited so you guys are now hearing about it! I need a break!! 5 days 4 nights in lovely Rio Grande PR with the girls should be uber FUN!!

I have'nt even started packing so I am going to take off the day from work on Thursday to buy my little things I need, get my mani/pedi and go thru my summer clothes to pack for the trip.. I dont want to be stressed on Friday. I will return the day before my BDAY so I will celebrate that with my hubby and kids when I get back!

TABU's On Friday's!!

So Friday I had a ball at Tabu nightclub.. I have renamed myself the official showgirl, lol



My sister celebrated a post bachelorette party at grown folk Friday's at Tabu in West Hempstead LI.. I had so much fun as you can see in these pics!!



The music was poppin the crowd was official and old, just the way I like it, lol I cant party 30 or under, I just like the more mature crowd.. Slacks and suits only for the Men.



My sis enjoyed herself too, we don't know how to act when we get out! This is due to the fact that I'm always couped up in the house with my kids the way my husband likes me, lol

I'm gonna try to hold off on relaxing until year end and see how this stretch does me.

It was so much cheaper ordering this way and shipping was only 3 dollars! 17 buck for each wig compared to the 22 that I usually pay in the BSS is a great deal for me.. I tried some new wigs, i ususally get Freetress Lyon girl and Freetress New York girl but I hope these new gals work out for me. I have to start posting some more pics, I got a new camera but have not had a chance to download anything in a few weeks..

This came right in time because I want to pick up this lovely down coat for my 4 year old daughter J who will be 5 yrs in 3 weeks:) I love to have a variety of coats for my girls at all time and this one is a winer.. For some reason I cant post it from my job, I will come back later and post the coat.

Most likely it will automatically give out the 5 bucks off but i'm gonna try my luck and hope for the 50%, lol

10/23 ETA

I just came from the Gap getting my DD's coat which is a beauty!! So they had 10 buck off all of the warmest jackets and coats and then with my coupon which of course was only for 5 dollars off, the coat cost me a total of 39.50!!

That's a steal to me, lol So if anyone has this coupon and needs something from the GAP run there before Sunday the 25th.

REGIMEN

So as of right now here's what I try to stick to on a weekly basis and my hair has been thriving. I am always tweaking things here and there and will always update if anything changes

Relax with Soft and Beautiful Botanicals every 12-16 weeks ( still trying to see what suits me best, I made it til 15 weeks last time on my stretch but my anxiousness gets the best of me). I only use heat when I relax, no other time do I use heat on my hair. I blow and flat iron using IC heat protectant(pink bottle) and Chi Silk infusion.

Weekly

Sundays

Shampoo with CON Yellow label, Aphogee damaged hair, AO HSR Poo, ORS aloe rid(1x 4-6 weeks) Giovanni direct Tea tree clarify poo(1x 2-3 weeks).. I alternate between these poos according to what I feel my hair needs.

Light protein treatment (Aphogee 2 min or AO GBP condish) and DC with either Elasta QP DPR, Alter ego Garlic(wont be buying again, too expensive, looking for something comparable), Keracare humecto(have not tried yet) IC DEep moisture penetrating condish(had this in the closet forever, trying to use it up), Nexxus Humectress(love love the smell!!) I use this more as a moisturizer for my ends but sometimes I DC with it.

Under heat for about 30 min or without heat 1 to 3 hours

Rinse and apply leave ins - Aphogee Green tea Keratin or Aphogee provitamin . IC olive oil Nurish leave in(green bottle) Chi silk infusion(not always)

And I use the scarf method to airdry in a bun

Thursdays

Cowash with VO5 moisture milks, or Mane and Tail.

DC with any of the above DC's

Honey and EVOO are added to my DC' and sometimes I do a mix of the dc's to see what I like.

Same steps after the DC above on Sundays.

Nightly I moisturize and seal with a few different products, I alternate with Elasta QP mango butter, NTM silk touch, ran out(wont be buying anymore - 2 expensive, results didnt wow me and not enough in the bottle), Nexxus humtress(love this for moisturizing!), or the VO5 moisture milks, BB Moisturizor w castor oil, or I have a homemade spritz with scurl, water, and some VO5 condish thats great. I want to try Wave Nouvou's moisturizer as Sunshyne from Hairlicious raves about that, its on my to buy list! I seal with any oils I have laying around, EVOO, EVCO or JBCO.

I also apply mn straight to my scalp or I have a mix of MN, JBCO and Tea Tree oil that I apply 2 or 3x a week as a growth aid.

Once my hair gets longer I will be attempting braidouts, caruso sets and twistouts, I love these looks. For some reason, just my opinion I like the way they come out on longer hair. Im at shoulder length now but maybe once I reach APL or approach APL I can do some of these PS's.

The blog seems so long, but I really thing this is a very simple regimen. My 3 kiddies make if very hard for me to have too much of a complex regimen.. I always hear the simpler the better:)

HAIR UPDATE - 4 Weeks post

Just updating to say i'm 4 weeks post relaxer and I am bunning for retention! I decided to give my wigs and half wigs a break until I am about 6 weeks post and my edges are looking a HAM.
Last night I Cowashed with Dove Moisturizing condish(trying to use it up, not one of my faves), did a quick protein treatment with Aphogee 2 minute(left for 5min) and dc'd with Pantene Relaxed and Natural DC Mask. This was my 1st time using the Pantene DC.. I have to say my hair came out pretty soft afterwards. I do like it, but I love my Elasta QP DPR better.. Its alot creamier.

I added my leave in's Aphogee Keratin Green tea reconstructor and some IC Olive Leave in and put my hair in a bun to airdry overnight.

Came out soft and moisturized in the am. I put my JBCO, MN and tea trea oil mix on my scalp and massaged in for about 5 minutes.

I am still tweaking alot of the products I use and trying to see what I like the best.

Elasta QP DPR-11+ - Product Rave

I have been using this new DC for the last 2 weeks.. I am actually sitting with it now under a plastic cap.. So I heard about this initially from Sunshyne over at Hairlicious, inc.. I just recently found it and decided to try it as I am always looking for new yummy products.. All I can say is for 5.49 US I am sold. Its definately a heavy hitter, and the smell is go nice. It rivals against my fave Impact Alter Ego Garlic DC. And the difference in price has me sold.

Relaxed on 9/19!

Hello all!

I couldn't withstand the creamy crack urge and I gave it at 15 weeks post. I think I had good results, and my hair is so healthy and bouncy. I didn't meet my SL mark but I should by Dec 09 or Jan 10 when I relax again so no worries:)

I relaxed with soft and beautiful botanicals no lye regular.. I came out underprocessed at my nape which I relaxed last because that is my problem area.. I will do a corrective down the line when I feel like its strong enough to handle it

I relaxed in 2 sections and I neautralized for about 15 to 20 minute. I then did the aphogee 2 min reconstructor for 5 minutes and then I tried the Elasta QP DPR DC. I left this on for 45 min without heat and then I sat under my hooded dryer for 20 minutes.. I rinsed with cool water added my leave in's Aphogee Green Tea Keratin and a dime size Chi silk and my IC heat protectant (pink bottle) and then I tshirt dried for about 15 minutes and then blow dried on cool air until dry.. I flat ironed only running the iron on each section once.

Here are the results

I did a pin curl set but I didnt take any pics yet.. I will post once I take out the set. Overall I am very happy with my growth and hair's health this relaxer!

Hi All


Stretching is getting easier and easier!! The only bad part of stretching for me is getting to anxious to see my progress. I started my journey off at really thin neck length hair. The dominican hair shop blew my hair from root to tip for about 2 months and I saw my nice hair dwindle away right before my eyes! I then found various hair care forums and the 1st thing I noticed was the practice of stretching your relaxers. This is my second stretch since the start of my journey, my 1st ending at 12 weeks exactly. That was the hardest thing i've ever done, lol The knots and tangles were fierce and the breakage and shedding is scary! This time around, I'm learning my hair and what it needs and thrives on. I found a great staple which is helping me stretch(Cantu Shea Butter Leave in) which just melts my NG.
